Uta no Prince-sama Maji Love 2000% review

I’m glad to see that otome games are slowly getting a place in the English market. Also, there are more and more anime adaptions, like Uta Pri. And now, we even got a second season!

I must say, it’s one of the best adaptions I’ve ever seen<3 It’s even better than the first season, and it has lots of fanservice. It continues in the same style as the first season, every episode covering 1 guy. Also, Cecil joins them, yay!  Oh, and now that they’re going to become professionals, they have some hawt guys teach them- Mikaze Ai, Camus, Kotobuki Reiji and Kurosaki Ranmaru. The graphics are colourful, detailed and the music is great, as always. I hope they’ll focus more on one character and develop some romance.

I watched the first episodes and can’t wait for the next one, they’re definitely worth watching! The first episode starts in force, with a new song by STARISH, called “Maji Love 2000%”, so if you liked their first one, you’ll surely love it.

On another note, I just finished Amnesia (the anime) and now Haruka seems to have such an interesting personality, maybe because the nameless protagonist in Amnesia was very passive (well, of course she was, since she lost her memory).

All in all, Uta Pri Maji Love 2000% has everything it needs- bishies, graphics, music, *ahem* fanservice and likeable characters.

If you want to know more about the first season, I have a post

And now, here’s just a glimpse at this anime’s awesomeness~

Nijikon 2012

Hi! I haven’t posted anything in a loo~ng while and I’m sorry =.= I had a lot of homework and couldn’t find the right time to write. By the way, my first mark at physics this year is a 10/10 🙂

So, I know it’s a bit late, but Nijikon was on 3-4 November. As always, I was there on the first day. :3 I arrived there around 11:00. And this year was the first time we went in a larger group- we were 6 people (in the other years we were only 2). Of course, one of them was Sunny-chan, who made a good part of the photos this year.

The first thing we checked out was the manga stand, since the mangas run out pretty fast. Like, one moment I see Death Note, the next 5 minutes there aren’t any Death Note volumes left 😀 . Luckily, I managed to buy Kuroshitsuji vol.4, Loveless vol.9, Dengeki Daisy vol.2 and Vampire Knight vol.3. There were also some yaoi mangas but I resisted buying some^^ We made lots of photos with cosplayers and it was a lot of fun! We also watched the AMVs, which were great (and convinced me to continue watching K-ON). After going from stand to stand, we got hungry, so we bought hot-dogs. Then, the cosplay contest began, which was a little too short. At least this time we stayed on the seats, not on the floor. I forgot to mention that I bought a pair of neko ears :3 Then, we participated in the drawing contest. Of course, I didn’t win, but it was just for fun. I bought a poster with Izaya (Durarara!!) and one with Alois and Claude (Kuroshitsuji). And, since I said that every time I go to a convention I must buy at least one figure, I found a really cute Hatsune Miku figure. Ah, it was epic when I bought it! The box was big and it wasn’t cheap, and the sellers were wondering if someone would even buy it. And then, I saw it and I asked the price- they began to laugh that the moment they put it on sale, it was bought. There was a host club, but it was a huge crowd so if you wanted to go in, you would’ve waited hours, so we gave up. Ah, my dream to go to a host club or a butler cafe…

All in all, it was cool and we had a lot of fun. And now, the photos~

Trickster Online design contest

おはよございます!Sorry for not writing anything in a while, but I was damn busy with my exams. By the way, I got 10/10 at maths and 9.30/10 at language. Now I’m in summer holiday until September so I think I’ll write more.

Now, back to the subject- I’ve been playing Trickster Online for quite a lot of time and there was an equipment design contest inspired by the cute bear-like Poppuri. Sooo, I decided to participate- a few hours before the contest was going to end! Somehow, I managed to finish my designs and submit them in time. And I got 2nd place!!! I was a little surprised, but I’m happy that I won. Here are the designs, I hope you like them!

OtakuFest 2012

On 26th-27th May, it was Otakufest, one of the few anime conventions in my country. I know I’m making this post a little late, but I was busy this week >.< As always, I went with Sunny-chan and we had a lot of fun.

We arrived there around 11:30 a.m. and, of course, our first stop was at the manga stand, where we found a large variety of mangas, from shonen, shoujo to yaoi and how-to-draw books. Even though we arrived there early, a lot of mangas were sold. After that, we went  and bought CosplayGen, a magazine dedicated to cosplay. Ahh, when I think that I missed the first number…By the way, they changed the location this year, and that means more space- 2 whole floors! The theme was Vocaloid, and we bought t-shirts with Hatsune Miku.  The figures stand was huge this year, there were figures with characters from anime and games, and it was impossible not to find something to buy. I was delighted to find a Squall Leonhart figure (from Final Fantasy). We also bought a set of Copic markers (12 colours). I need to make some more time to draw =.=

After so much shopping and going up and down the stairs, we got hungry. Luckily, there was a place on the second floor where you could eat. We ate fast, because the cosplay contest was going to begin. Then, we rushed to the hall where the contest was going to be held (we still had around 15 minutes before it had started). But it was so full  there, that we couldn’t even enter there. Finally, we got past the door and practically crawled on the floor until we arrived above some seats and could see the scene. We were lucky enough to find a place on the stairs, and we could see perfectly from there. All the cosplayers were awesome, and we saw great and detailed costumes.

We took some photos, too. The majority were taken by me (those who aren’t moved), and some by Sunny-chan. Here are the photos~I hope you like them!

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai anime review

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai is that kind of anime where you laugh a lot and enjoy watching it to the fullest. It’s one of the few (if not the only one) harem anime about friendship.

The storyline is simple, without twisted plots and complicated action, but the simplicity is what makes it such a good anime.

The main character is Kodaka, a guy who is often mistaken with a deliquent because of his blond hair. Actually, he’s a nice person who just wants to make friends. When he moves to Japan, on his first day of school, he sees a girl talking alone in the classroom. That girl is Yozora, who who was talking to her imaginary friend. Finding out that Kodaka doesn’t have any friends either, she makes a club for making friends, the first two members being the two of them. Soon, the most popular girl in school, Sena, joins the club. Even though everyone loves her, she doesn’t actually have any friends. She and Yozora don’t get along, resulting some hilarious situations. The club expands, and an unusual cast of characters join- a little nun, Kodaka’s sister (who cosplays as a vampire character all the time), a genius girl who’s obsessed with bl mecha, and a boy who looks just like a girl.

What’s so good about this anime? Well, it is really funny, I personally laughed at all the episodes. The graphics are nice, and it’s the kind of anime that you’ll definitely enjoy. Of course, it also has the classic trip to the beach, that is present in almost all the harems. I had a lot of fun watching it, and I don’t usually watch this genre. I recommend Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai to everyone who likes comedies or who wants to watch something different.

The World God Only Knows anime review

An original view of dating sim games, with original and funny turns of events, and lots of cute moments. The World God Only Knows, or Kami Nomi Zo Shiru Sekai follows the story of Katsuragi Keima, who loves girls- not real girls, but characters from dating sims. He is also known as the God of Conquest – the one who can conquer any girl.

Keima is very smart, but he isn’t good at sports and his drawing skills are beyond zero. He isn’t intrested in real life, so he always has his ”PFP” with him. He can even play 6 games at a time. One day, he gets a message from a demon called Elsie, who needs help from the great God of Conquest. But she doesn’t know that he can win the hearts of dating sim characters, not real girls. So, they end up making a contract, and they have to catch ”loose souls”, who reside in the gaps from a girl’s heart. To catch them, Keima has to fill those gaps and make them fall in love with him. Easier said than done. In real life, he is known as ”Otamegane”, and doesn’t interact with other people.

Even though he thinks that real girls aren’t perfect, like the ones in games, and they are plain, he has to try to capture them, or else he and Elsie will die. However, those girls aren’t plain, and there are a few stereotypes- a tsundere, a pop idol, a sporty girl, and many others. Elsie lives with Keima and his mother, and goes to the same school as him. Using his skills from dating sims, he tries to conquer the girls, so that Elsie can catch the loose souls. Along the way, they meet other demons and Keima has to have many difficult situations. When he almost conquers a girl, he says ”I can see the ending!”

In my opinion, it’s a great anime, with a lot of potential, which perfectly combines comedy with a catching storyline. The protagonist has a unique personality, which contrasts with Elsie’s cheerfulness, thus resulting an awesome mix of comedy, romance and a little action, which makes Kami Nomi Zo Shiru Sekai an anime that anyone can enjoy.

Hiiro no Kakera gets anime!

Good news for otome game fans! The visual novel otome game from Idea Factory, Hiiro no Kakera gets an anime. The story is about a girl called Tamaki, who is the next Tamayorihime after her grandmother, and who goes to her hometown, where she gets attacked by some creatures, but rescued by a guy who is one of the five guardians of the Tamayorihime. Since the game isn’t in English, I couldn’t play it, so watching the anime will be awesome. And who knows, maybe after the English release of Hakuouki, which was on 14th February, Hiiro no Kakera would get one too. Let’s hope so. By the way, here’s the trailer. Enjoy!

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto anime review

Since I haven’t seen a historical anime in a while, I decided to start the new year with one. So, I decided to watch Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto, and today I finished it. It has a lot of history, political affairs and war, with some supernatural elements, making it a great anime.

Once again, we see the strong samurai spirit, the strong will of a samurai. The action takes place in the Bakumatsu era, in the final years of the Shogunate. The main character, Youjiro Akizuki is the ”Eternal Assasin”, the one whose destiny is to seal ”The Lord’s Head”, an object that appears in time of war. For that purpose, he wields the legendary Moontear Sword. On his journey to find the Lord’s Head, he meets the Yuyama theater troupe, whose members seek revenge on the one who killed their families. Youjiro joins them, helping them and trying to accomplish his task. Ibaragi Soutetsu, the playwright of the Yuyama troupe is an intelligent man who wants to change the country, and he wants to obtain the Lord’s Head. A character that you just have to love is Kanna Sakyounosuke, an English man who became  Katsu Kaishu’s bodyguard. He’s a talented fighter who uses two guns. His mother left him when he was little, and he keeps her photo in a pocket-watch. Later is the series, important historical figures, like Hijikata Toshizo and Souji Okita of the Shinsengumi appear in the story. Personally, I love  the anime and I’m glad that I chose it to be the first one I watch in the new year.

3 mangas

I received a ”leapsa”(where I live it means receiving a request about a topic) from Sunny-chan about 3 mangas that I like. Since I read lots and lots of mangas, and I can’t really choose, so I’ll write about 3 of the ones that I’m currently reading.

Loveless – A 12 year-old guy named Ritsuka, whose brother died, is living with his mother. After his brother’s death, he became a totally different person, and his mother is constantly attacking him because she thinks he’s not her son. An interesting thing about this manga is that the people have cat ears, and those ears disappear when they become ”adults”. Ritsuka transfers schools, and he meets Soubi, who was a friend of his brother. Then, he finds out that his brother was killed by an organisation called ”Seven Moons”, and that Soubi and his brother, Seimei, were a pair, where Soubi was the ”Fighter” and Seimei was the ”Sacrifice”. Now that his brother is gone, Ritsuka took his place as the ”Sacrifice”, and finds that his name is ”Loveless”. Along with Soubi, who constantly tells Ritsuka that he loves him, he tries to uncover the secrets of his brother’s death and the mysteries of the ”Seven Moons”.

Pandora Hearts – Oz Bezarius, the heir of the Bezarius duke house, attends to his coming of age ceremony, where, for unknown reasons, he is cast into the Abyss, a prison where creatures called ”chains” live. There, he meets the chain Alice, and make a contract to be able to escape. They join an organisation called ”Pandora”, that takes care of the chains. There, they work together with Oz’s faithful servant Gilbert. They are also helped by Sharon and Break. Alice tries to recover her lost memories, while Oz wants to find out the reason why his father hates him and why he was cast into the Abyss. Soon, they find out how many mysteries are around the ”Tragedy of Sablier”, when the capital was cast into the Abyss, around the four great duke houses, and that Alice’s memories have to do something with those things.

Death Note – Light Yagami has a great sense of justice and he hates the fact that there are a lot of crimes. One day, a bored shinigami drops his Death Note, and Light picks it up. When he arrives home, he reads the instructions, whe it says that the person whose name would be written there, would die. First, he thinks that it’s a joke, but when the shinigami Ryuk appears, he realizes that it’s for real. Then, he decides to make a perfect world, where crimes don’t exist. So, he writes the names of the criminals in the Death Note, but those mysterious deaths catch the attention of an awesome detective, whose face and name no one knows, and he’s called ”L”. So, a psychological fight between two geniuses who have totally opposite opinions on what true justice is begins.

And those are the 3 mangas that I chose. I hope you like the post~

Uta Pri anime review

A few months ago, the otome game Uta no Prince-sama has been made into an anime. I haven’t played the game yet, but since the anime art was nice, I decided to watch it.

The best thing about Uta Pri is that it has lots of bishounens. The art is awesome, but the story is cute. It’s about a girl named Haruka who goes to a music academy, but she doesn’t know very much about music. The students are separated in 2 categories- those who compose music and those who sing. There she meets 6 guys- Ittoki Otoya, Ichinose Tokiya, Masato Hijirikawa, Ren Jinguuji, Sho Kurusu and Natsuki Shinomiya.

Ittoki is Haruka’s classmate. He’s optimistic, cheerful and energetic, and he’s kind of straight-forward. He’s Tokiya’s roommate.

Tokiya is actually Hayato, Haruka’s idol. First, he said he was his twin brother, but it’s later revealed that he is Hayato. His songs were perfect, but they didn’t have ”heart”, so he wanted to start over as a new singer, so he went to the academy. He was first in S class, but later moved to A class, where Ittoki and Haruka are.

Masato is the heir of the Hijirikawa Group. He is serious and hard-working. His roommate is Ren, who is his rival. He is a bit old-fashioned and that makes him even cuter.

Ren is an outgoing guy who is the third son of the Jinguuji family, and Masato’s rival and roommate. But they kind of get along sometimes.

Sho is Natsuki’s roommate and childhood friend. He is short and really cute. Sho has a fear of heights because when he was little ge almost fell off a high place because of Natsuki.

Natsuki loves cute things and he often compares Haruka to his dog, Elizabeth. He has double personality. His other personality is called Satsuki and appears when he takes off his glasses. Satsuki is Natsuki’s opposite, being violent, but is also a genius at composing songs.

Now, about the anime. Since it has only 13 episodes, I’m going to spoil you a little, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t read further~

Haruka arrives a little late for the entrance exam, but Ittoki and Ren (if I remember correctly) help her to go to take the exam, which she passes. She gets in class A. Haruka wants to study music because her idol’s music saved her . Until then, she lived in the countryside with her grandmother because the city made her ”dizzy”.

In class, Haruka has to play the piano, and then it is revealed that she can’t play it. Because of that, she is teased by her classmates, but Ittoki helps her again. The next few episodes focus on each male character. Masato helps Haruka get rid of her fear of playing the piano while being watched. Ren is going to be expelled if he doesn’t submit his lyrics on time, but he shatters the piece of paper with the song, but Haruka and everyone else help him to find the pieces of paper and he doesn’t get expelled. An actor that Sho likes very much is going play in a new movie and he needs another person to take part in it.

Of course, Sho wants to take part but he has a fear of heights. With the help of his friends, his fear gets cured, but then he finds out that the role in the movie was for a girl, se he couldn’t take part.

Haruka sees a guy who looks just like her idol, Hayato. But he says he is his twin brother, Tokiya. It is later revealed that he actually is Hayato. Even though he has debuted already and his songs were technically perfect, they didn’t have heart anymore. So, he tried to start again, under the name ”Ichinose Tokiya”.

Haruka goes to Hayato’s concert and finds out that Natsuki has split personality. She goes to the concert with him and Sho, where she finds out the secret about Hayato.

Then, they go to a summer camp on an island. There they should find their partner for the final exam. Haruka meets Cecile, whose clan lived on that island and he was her protector or something like that. I don’t get it why they added fantastic elements to this kind of storyline. Ittoki, Tokiya, Masato, Ren, Sho and Natsuki all want to be Haruka’s partners.

Haruka thinks of giving up because the rule says that she could have only one partner, but if she drops out, the other six will be disqualified. Then, she makes a song for six people – ”Maji Love 1000%”. Tokiya is getting late because of his ”part-time job”. His friends are worried about him, and he tells his company president that he’s a student at Saotome Academy and the president collapses.

After that, they are allowed to be a group of six, but their song writer wouldn’t be Haruka. So, she goes back to the countryside, but Ittoki, Masato, Tokiya, Ren, Sho and Natsuki come to take her back. The principal said that the song writer wouldn’t be her to test her resolve. And she becomes their song writer and they form a band called Starish.

I think it would’ve been better if it was longer. I recommend it if you want to watch something cute without a too complex story. It’s definitely a must-see anime.
